Look who’s been published! (Dr. David, that’s who)

“Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) in a Pregnant Woman with Placenta Previa, Migraines, Neck & Back Pain Undergoing Subluxation Centered Chiropractic.” Well, that’s a mouthful…and the name of a study published in the Journal of Pediatric, Maternal & Family Health with David H. Spear, PhD, DC (aka Dr. David) as a principle author.

The recently published paper reflects Dr. David’s long commitment and experience in working with mothers and babies. It reported on the benefits of chiropractic care for a pregnant woman wanting a vaginal birth after undergoing a caesarian in an earlier pregnancy. Her chief complaints, as the study’s title says, were chronic migraines, pregnancy related neck and back pain, and placenta previa (for which obstetricians commonly prescribe caesarians). Following six weekly visits for chiropractic care that included drop-table technique, the woman was able to have a successful vaginal birth. That’s success by any measure!

Last month, the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association featured Dr. David's study as a leading example of research that chiropractors and their pregnant clients and families should know about. If you’d like to read Dr. David’s research yourself, please click here.
